It finally happened!
Yesterday I took the girls to get their ears pierced. They have been asking for it for a few months now and I’ve been reluctant about letting them. I think I was just too nervous. But they wore me down and I made an appointment for them at a pediatrician’s office. The girls were such troopers, they didn’t even cry. At the end they both received certificates stating that each is “a super brave kid.” It was very cute.

Afterward we went to celebrate at this really cute restaurant called Sweetiepie. The girls really like it because the seats there are pink and there are lollypops all over the place. They had desert their consisting of a mini cake, a mini ice cream cone and a raspberry whipped cream with rose water. Very delicious.

It was a pretty memorable day for all of us

A bit late on posting this but better late than never.
Emma turned 6 years old last Saturday. She had her friends over at our apartment. It was a nice sunny day and all the kids and grown up played on the deck. My wonderful sister-in-law and her beautiful daughter were here visiting us. She made the most delicious sugar cookies I’ve ever tasted. The cookies were a huge hit. All in all it was a great birthday. Here are a few photos from that day.

This is a looooong overdue post. I realized that I haven’t updated the site on almost 3 months now. I am going to try and make an excuse and say I’ve been busy.
So a few things have happened in these couple of months. the first one is that my mom and I took the girls to Israel to see my side of the family. I haven’t been there since 1998 and it was time to go for a visit. The girls have never seen any of my family in person (they have seen photos) and I really wanted them to meet my relatives. It was a really good trip. The girls met their cousins and great-aunts and uncles and their great-grandma.

We all had a wonderful time. The girls played with their cousins and everyone understood each other. Somehow not speaking the same language was not an issue.
Emma and Eva even picked up a little Russian.
A couple of weeks before our trip we found a new apartment. While we were away Jesse moved us into the new place. The new apartment is great! It’s in the same building as our old one, so we didn’t move far, but it’s much bigger and it has a huge terrace. The girls learned to ride their bikes (without the training wheels) on it a couple of weekends ago. So for the past couple of weeks we’ve been settling in, getting back into our routine and spending a lot of time (weather permitting) on our terrace.

And this past few days the girls have been a having a lot of fun with their Auntie Karma and Sadie who came to visit and help celebrate Emma’s birthday this Saturday. The girls had no idea they were coming and were very surprised. It’s been great having them here. We are really looking forward to go to Victoria in the summer and hanging out with everyone there for two months.

I know this is a few days late but I thought I would post it anyways…
On February 25th Eva turned 4 years old. Hard to believe that my baby is not a baby anymore but a little girl. We didn’t have a big party for her. I took Eva and three of her best friends out to lunch on her birthday and the girls had a really great time. In the evening we had dinner and cake (with pink frosting and a “Hello Kitty” candle). She wanted to bring chocolate chip cookies to her preschool friends but, unfortunately, we got hit with a snow storm and school was canceled. This just meant that we had a lot of cookies to munch on through the weekend. We are almost done with them.
All in all, it was a great day.

Here are a few photos of today’s snow storm. It’s still snowing right now and is suppose to snow through the night, although it should stop by the morning. Our mayor is optimistic and public schools are open tomorrow so Emma will be back at school.

Last week was observation week at the ballet school where the girls take lessons. Observation week is the only time parents are allowed in the classroom and are able to take photos and videos so here a couple of videos of the girls. Enjoy.

Happy 2010, everyone!! 2009 was a great year for us. We went to Disney World twice and had a wonderful time. The girls and I spent two months in B.C. visiting family and friends. It was amazing and we really hope that we can do the same in the summer of 2010. In September Eva started pre-school and Emma went to Kindergarten. She is already reading and writing. We wrapped the year up by going to Jamaica. We all had a great time. We signed the girls up at Kids Klub and they went there every day. They spent their time playing and doing crafts. They made many friends and were not bored for a single moment. Because the kids were occupied the grown ups were able to relax and enjoy themselves as well. It was a pretty nice way to finish one year and to start the next. I am sure there will be lots of adventures in the new year.
